Power tailgate works from the FOB, dash and keypad, it does not work from the tailgate switch. It was working for about two weeks after Ford did the rear camera replacement and suddenly quit.
I had it apart today and rang out the wires and the switch. I also checked between the switch connector and ground for 12V, nothing measured. I also checked the purple and green wires to ground, no continuity.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows where the purple and green wires go to in the tailgate harness? Is there a relay, inside the tailgate, before the actuator for the rear tailgate switch?
If this is something that happened after Ford did the work, why don't you take it back and make them fix it?
Hi again,
I found threads dating back to 2017 with the same problem. I'm trying to find a wiring diagram that will show me where the purple and green wires, for the tailgate switch, originate in the harness. Some posts indicate there are more connectors around the back of the back bumper and the spare tire. I've electrically eliminated the switch and the small harness from the switch to the bundle next to the actuator.
If you are asking about the camera replacement, yes. There are no outstanding recalls.
Not asking about he camera replacement. The taigate recall, for unintended tailgate opening. If that was completed at some point the wiring gets cut, jumped, spliced in ways that might not follow a wiring diagram. I declined to have it done on my '19. It sounds like it may have been done to yours, since it is not still showing as an open recall.
Following this to see if there’s a fix. I don’t have the wiring info the OP is looking for. I have the exact same problem (as have many). Everything worked fine until the unintended opening recall was completed. The button hasn’t worked since. I noticed the day I picked the truck up and they had me pull it back in and I watched as he replaced the button and checked everything in the gate. I left it for another half day and they couldn’t find the problem. They didn’t charge me anything and offered to have me bring it back at no charge but I never have.
I’m convinced the problem was a result of the recall “repair” but the dealer can’t undo it. I just haven’t gotten someone else to. It’s simple from what I understand but I don’t want to mess with the wiring on these newer trucks.

The strange thing is that the OP only had the rear camera replaced (recall) on this visit, if I'm understanding correctly, and a couple weeks later the tailgate button stopped working. The camera replacement is very easy and straight forward, I can't imagine what could have happened that caused a delayed failure of the tailgate operation. Unless it's just coincidental.
If you are interested or curious to see what the tailgate recall included, the attachment shows the procedure, with the exception of the switch replacement which is also part of it.
The connector is the one to the switch. As I stated in earlier posts, this checks good to the connector to the main tailgate harness, sorry I don't have a picture of that. I'm trying to find where it goes in the main harness to the actuator. I don't want to mess with the actuator if I don't have to.
Does anyone know, that had it done, if they made the splice inside the tailgate or under the bumper by the spare tire?
Ford went to a lot of trouble for a wiring problem related to water intrusion.
Right, splice and add more connections that could be susceptible to water intrusion. They later came out with an enhanced repair, a CSP for trucks that already had the recall, or came from the factory with the jumper wires, but still experience unintended tailgate opening. Not sure how many actually had that done. I can't seem to attach that PDF so maybe the link address will work. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...dcmIUIpy53ZnNb
