Thank you, you two.

Today I had the TÜV appointment, where the truck was technically checked.
Unfortunately, there are some things to do, before I can get it legally on the road.

One thing is the size of the tires. They are concerned that the tach is too false with the currently mounted tires which are 285/75 16. So the diameter is bigger as factory.
My Marti report says it came with 7.50x16-8. So can anybody of you guys please tell me what size that would be? In this form: "285/75 16". I am not sure I got the math right till now.
And how wide I can go and still have the correct original diameter?

Second thing is that the front axle bearings are a bit worn out. The outer ones at the wheels. So I need to replace them.
Before ordering I want to be sure to order the correct ones, because I have a Dana 44 and I know there are some different types it would be very kind if you could help me here.
You find a pic of the axle tag attached.
Is this the right kit: https://shop.broncograveyard.com/Dan...uctinfo/21714/ ?

Thank you and have a nice weekend gentlemen.
Patrick

The tachometer (engine speed) is inaccurate or the speedometer (vehicle speed)? If it’s the speedometer I would simply change the driven gear on the speedometer cable instead of paying for new tires. There’s a calculator to help you pick the new gear.

What is the difference between tach and speedometer? Translator says it's both "Tachometer" in German, which is about your driving speed here.

Ah, I see. Thanks for that, Maybe that is an option too. But our rules on tires are more strict here, so I will need new ones sooner or a bit later. So it would be good to know never the less.

Ah ok . So tach is showing the rpm's right? That is another word in German. Would be "Drehzahlmesser", what means "number of revolutions counter"
So I am talking about the speedo

Ah, Ich versteht die verwirrung.

Speedometer = Geschwindigkeit eines fahrzeug

Tachometer = Drezahl eines motor

I work with ZF a lot. I know a lot of very random and technical words in German.

Not bad

Exactly,

Speedometer: "Tacho" . Our abbrevation for tachometer
Tachometer: "Drehzahlmesser" No abbrevation for that one.

Most 285/75r-16 tires will measure 32-inches diameter. About the same as the 7.50-16.

If you measure a BFG 35-inch tire, they will most likely measure 34-inches max if that. probably more like 33-inches.
Go to a popular tire shop and measure. It is interesting.

Les Schwab stores have a Tire Chart showing sizes and diameters. Tires are like Shoes, what does a size 10 measure ?

Thanks, that helps a lot.

Anyone any advise on the bearings? I would like to order them as fast as possible.
