Someone gave me a 1981 F-700 to use for my farm. It is in rough shape and I'm new to this forum so I'm a bit nervous where to begin. It has two relatively large tanks, the fuel lines appear to be chopped. The passenger side tank fuel line is missing but there is what I think is a pump bolted on the side of the chassis that has a line that goes to the carburetor. The driver side tank fuel line is missing, and I see what looks like a broken tank selector valve. So, it's in disarray to put it lightly. I want to restore the original functionality as close to OEM as reasonably possible. I found a tank selector valve "Standard Motor Products FV1T Fuel Selector Valve" that appears nearly identical to the broken one under the driver side of the cab attached to the side of the chassis. Is this the right selector valve or will it work? It appears that there are external pumps bolted and wired on the sides of the chassis? (will attach pics if allowed). I think the fuel pumps are supposed to be in the tanks? I don't see a fuel selector button/switch inside the cab to wire in either. Where should it be located and can I buy this somewhere or do I need to go hunting in junk yards? Are there any fuel system diagrams I can refer to to help hash out the wiring and lines to run? Sorry for the 101 questions, it's a mess and I am going to have to restore the entire fuel system.
