Clutch safety switch question, etc.
First, I'm old, been driving standard transmissions all my life, and have NEVER accidentally started a vehicle while in gear and clutch engaged.
Now, that said:
I find it aggravating that one must have the clutch fully depressed in order for the starter to engage. Is there a workaround for this which will not cause unwanted side effects?
Will the obvious modification not then effect such things as the ability to engage 4WD-low via the switch on the dash, etc.?
Like I said, I'm old, and I leave working on these new-fangled computerized vehicles to you young whippersnappers. :-) I don't wish to induce unintended problems into the circuitry, etc.
If you feel that you need to state some type of liability disclaimer or something, fine. But I would truly appreciate some knowledgable advise on this subject, and some of you folks seem to be very knowledgable.
By the way, my last vehicle was a 1977 F150 4X4 which of course did not have all these fancy do-dads. Yep, bought it brand new (Ordered it to my specs) and drove it for 26 years. When I put it up for sale, the first person to drive it bought it. Bet this Ranger won't last that long!
Thank you in advance to anyone kindly enough to help.

Remeber when you got used to working a computer? It's the same thing. You'll get used to the starting routine.
These new vehicles aren't as complicted as you think. There's just more parts to them.
At least I knew enough not to mess with it.
I appreciate your candor, and your kindness in answering. I'll leave it alone.
Thanks again.
