Ordered a roll of the stuff that was cheaper than that gasket I had posted..hoping to give the motor a bath today then see how things go from there...lol
My bracket and pump arrived and got the bracket cleaned up. Wondering if the pump could be good to use as it is after I get it cleaned up and repainted
or should I replace it. I'll need a reducer valve because I'm running a rack and pinion..
They are simple to rebuild and the kit is cheap (less than $20) Took mine apart, cleaned with brake clean and put it back together with the kit in less than an hour.
I guess I can always take it a part to see if any metal parts are worn before buying a kit. Worse case scenario would be to buy a new pump ...pressure valves are $32 US to reduce the pressure to 850 psi for the rack..
We had a good day where I could have taken the engine outside to scrub it good and rise it out but got side tracked doing other stuff and now we keep getting these freak snow storms preventing me working outside. Hopefully next week, I'd like to start assembling the engine..
Well washed out the engine today and wiped it as clean as I could and then sprayed it with WD40 and slid a garbage bag over it. Fun not knowing what I'm doing...lol
Well I cleaned up that Saginaw pump and put a kit in it. didn't look as though there was any wear in it but sure was dirty inside the reservoir and dirty metal sludge covering the magnet . I won't know how good of a job I did until I get this thing up and running..what ever year that ends up being..lol
