I have a 1996 f250 7.5l, I just purchased a new fuel pump and I cannot figure out how to wire it. Its the side tank. On my harness side i have grey/red, yellow/white, pink/ black and black wires. On the pump side I have purple, white/black, black and grey.
I found a reference but it didn't have identical colors. This is what I guessed I guess you could say.
It's making a noise when I turn the key but no gas on the fuel rail. Not sure what to do

Reason: Missed something
You need to rewire it correctly
That means pulling the new pump out so you can verify which wires go where
Happens all the time with the aftermarket pumps
I start with the sender ground wire and then go from there, finding + and - on the pump and then the sender hot wire
The wires have no rhyme nor reason IMO and somebody needs FIRED to even have to do that in the first place
I think Red is positive, pink negative.
There is also a fuse, relay, rocker selector switch, ignition switch and wreck inertia switch in the circuit to go bad.
