Hub/Spindle assembly

Looking to replace the front hub/ spindle assembly on my 2000 F250. Seems most recommend Timken branded parts, BUT when I replaced my driveshaft center support bearing with a Timken I noted that Timken had outsourced the part to China.

Does anyone know if Timken makes the hub/spindle assembly or are they also outsourced?

Thanks

Mike

Last time I bought Timken unit barring hubs the parts store had 2 different Timken part numbers. They brought out both and we opened the boxes, the ones for about $200 each were made in China and the ones for about $360 each were made in Mexico. Both Timken, both looked identical but 2 different part numbers. This was for my work truck and I went with the Mexico ones.

There is a place that has USA made unit bearings, at least there used to be. I found it online once, if I recall it is in Michigan.

edit: here they are: https://mibearings.com/WBI/www.wheel...gsinc.com.html It still says on their site that they make bearings in MI but call them to see if they still make them for Superduty as I looked and they had 3 options, Timken, Federal Mogul and WBI which was the most expensive and made in Michigan. Apparently they sell US made along with imported parts. (Since WBI does not sell to the public you buy them thru MIBearings)

edit number 2: I pulled up the page for my 2002 4x4 with 4 wheel ABS and there are 4 choices, the last one is WBI or Wheel Bearings Inc and it says they make them https://mibearings.com/index.php?mai...keyword=515025

Amazingly, the Moog unit bearings I bought from Autozone have lasted the longest for me so far. I will be considering a free-spin kit the next time they go out.

Nah, for the money they want for those free wheel kits you should just slide a Rockwell under there. Then you can start training your truck to fly.

In my case a conversion kit was best choice for peace of mind, having a dually with hub extensions!

By the way, the factory dually hub extensions would not fit over the new Dynatrac bearing hubs so I had to buy Arrowcraft dually hub extensions.
Oh well it was just few more $, but it's now a Dana 60 with serviceable bearings and 35 spline outer shafts.
