Tell us more about what failed, how, why, etc. A pic of a bent filter doesn't tell the whole story.

I don't see anything that failed. There is an oil filter with a dent.

I have 2 quick questions. Is that a hole punched in the area of the label? Is this an April Fools joke?

This is indeed a failure - a failure to install an oil filter properly.

well oil was changed at dealership and was slowly leaking ti yesterday morning at 6am went to go fishing and smelled oil burning and being a new truck with 15k miles that is not normal. Got underneath to see oil seeping out of filter. Also when I got a new one for it the old one was loose by hand.

Looks like some Num Nuts crushed it during installation

Is it possible that some sort of road debris caused that? I could see something hitting it, which could also cause it to loosen up a little.

These filters are so large and easily accessible that a tool isn't even necessary to fully tighten them. I really hope that a dealership isn't using someone capable of doing this to a new filter, and then would walk away from it.

proper installation is when the oiled gasket touches plus 1/4 to 1/2 turn,

Yep...looks like it has an impact mark on it.
