Just put a Maganflow exhust muffler on your truck. Your exhaust will be plenty loud and deep sounding. That's what I have on my truck!!

I don't have anything on mine and it sounds sweet. but if you don't want it to be too loud I would put in a high flow cat or some kind of exaust.

Wished I had the money for flowmaster when I redid mine. I am running plain old glass packs and a custom pipe out the side in front of the rear tire. Even with both cats on it still and probably both blocked as hell, it is still loud. Combine that with the 33 in mud tires and it makes for a heck of a truck. If I wasnt a Yankee I would be a redneck...lol

I think gutting a cat converter is a great idea! Bore a 2 inch or so hole right though it. It could serve as a fake cat or alone as a perfrmance muffler. Problem is, how do we bore a hole though it? Use a giant drill bit?

I gutted my cat today and it was not that hard. First I disconnected my muffler from the catalytic convertor. Then I used a 20lb breaker bar that i use for chipping ice in the winter to shove inside the cat and break up all the filter. I just kept jamming it in there to smash up the inside into small pieces, then I reached in with my 24" grabbing tool and pulled out all the pieces. The tiny little flakes of everything that were left over blew out when I took the truck raging through town with the cat-back still off of it (man was it loud). The catalytic convertor is now clean and free-flowing and it has a nice rumble to it. Has anyone else done what I did to my Bronco? Have you noticed any difference?

I never even had to take the cat off the truck. All I did was slide the muffler off the cat and then used a bar to shove up inside the cat to crush up all the insides.

so now that my catalytic convertor is gutted and i have a free-flowing muffler, would i be able to add more rumble to my exhaust if i put a larger diameter tailpipe on? right now it is just an aftermarket 2.5" tailpipe.

I just put a Borla XR-1 3" stainless muffler on my truck and it sounds great . I have full length headers no cats and 2.25" into one 3" and no tailpipe .

Why don't you just cut off your exhaust and run nothing but headers? I am sure that would be obnoxious enough. Better yet you could rig up a microphone and place it next to your headers and have the benefit of your exhaust system blasting out of your stereo as well as you exhaust!
