For the past almost 50 years I've detailed all my cars and trucks. Paint correction (polishes, clay bar etc) as needed then carnaubas , Zaino, Klasse, whatever . Decided to try a ceramic on the new truck. Antimatter Blue. Picked up some 3M ceramic on eBay. The paint on the truck was surprisingly good. Clay bar was all that was needed, The 3M application could not have been easier. No way I would pay someone to do this unless the truck needed a massive amount of paint correction first. So far I'm pleased with the results. Water sheets right off. If it lasts like some claim I'll be sold. (Still, there's nothing like the smell and feel of top coating a beautiful finish with Pinnacle Sovereign paste wax).
I did not have the space to go through the steps for a professional grade ceramic coating. I paid someone to apply it on my truck and it came with a 5-year warranty. I wish that I had the cash to also do PPF for the impact areas but that was as much as the ceramic coating.
Does anyone recommend a local professional quality ceramic installer around Northwest Florida (Ft Walton/Crestview/Niceville) area that is known to do great work? I think I want to get the long term 5ish year deal if possible. I’ll be doing this as soon as I take delivery of the truck.
I'm definitely not the type of person that will routinely wax my vehicle, so I'm interested in the potential for PPF and Ceramic to protect the exterior.
Is anybody familiar with the FEYNLAB ceramic products called SELF HEAL PLUS or HEAL LITE? They sure make these products sound too good to be true. No waxing for 10 years !!
