I finally found a good low mile roller 351w and just got the block and rotating assembly back from the machine shop. It was bored 20 over with new KB pistons, etc. I have a set of AFR Enforcer 1351 heads and comp roller rockers. I also finally received the Edelbrock 3881 intake I orderd last June lol. I am looking for a cam recommendation. I was considering using the nearly new Comp 35-349-8 in my current 302. I have a Stinger computer so tuning is not a concern. This truck is a fair weather daily cruiser. I do not tow or do "real truck" stuff. Thanks everyone!
Thanks bud! I actually found the steps on car-part in a yard in Oregon. Got them shipped with rust free brackets for less than just the repop brackets from the one place that makes them.
I may call Comp Cams and see what they recommend too. The price of roller cams is insane now compared to just 2 years ago so Id like to not do trial and error lol.

No recommendations, I use a comp 512 & 1.7 rockers which is really bottom of the barrel, but warmed it up nicely.
I'm in the middle of building a roller 408 and the block is in the machine shop now. The cam I purchased was a custom cam based on what I was building [Kenne-Bell, 185 AFR, E40D, towing]. I have been dealing with Ford Strokers and they have been a real pleasure to deal with. I filled out a form and got a reply about a week later. It's a Comp Cam. Price was very reasonable. Especially with the service they provide.
I do not know what will happen with this engine, but I am certain it's more mental than anything else, it's nice to know that someone made a cam that fits what I got. Not some off the shelf part.
I used the Comp XE276HR (35-328-8) in my 393W, along with the recommended 1.7 rockers. .544/.544 lift, 276/282 adv dur, 224/230 at .050. Bigger inches than the stock 302/351 needed a bigger cam to breathe properly to get the true potential out of the engine. The bigger-inch strokers also will tend to bring the power band down a bit - (200-300rpm for a ~400-inch, 3-400 lower for a 427-inch) So yes, my 393 is done at 5900 or so. That's fine with me anyway...I built the stroker for the added torque, not to be a screamer!!
I would agree with you on this. I think its a bit too much for the 302 even with long tubes and 3 bar gt40's. Might giver her a go in the 351 as it only has 6000 miles on it.

You said roller block and tune is not a problem?
I would look at Lunati 638-50250
This Lunati needs their lifters and will not work with the stock Ford lifters
Get a cam and kit whichever cam you choose.
You have the pistons installed?
you may be limited with which cam you get.
piston to valve clearance with those heads?
What is the max lift you can have with those pistons and heads?
Be prepared to get different cam or different pistons because of P2V clearance.
maybe your heads have small enough valves it’s not an issue.
i used XE258HR-12, great cam for the torque I wanted for a street truck.

So is that .544 lift with 1.7 rockers already factored in? If my math is right I’m at .550 with the 35-349-9 cam and 1.72 roller rockers.

What little bit I’ve been able to drive my truck it seems to run good. Now that I had to pull the engine because of a noise, I am thinking about going bigger now that I have a Stinger computer.
I wonder whatever happened to groundrat’s project?
