Stock Shocks

Will it raise the bed 3" ???????? I will be installing 17" wheels & slightly taller tires ( I think )........
Yes it can cause problems.
If the suspension movement is 19" and the shock only goes to 22" it will what they call bottom out the shock as it will stop before the bump stop hits the axle.
Beside busting the shock it can and most likely break off the shock mounts.
The only time you would change the stroke of a shock is if you lift or lower the suspension.
If you lift the suspension you also need to add longer bump stops or you end up bottoming out the shocks again.
Lowering if you dont shorten the stroke you bottom the shocks. Most of the time you you do anything with the bump stops as there is only like a inch or 2 of travel and will hit causing a ruff ride over bumps.
Where do your shocks mount at the top better not be the bed!
Shocks are mounted to the frame / cross member at the top never to the bed.
Bigger wheels & tires should not have anything (much) to do with shocks.
Is this a 4x2 or 4x4 lowered or lifted?
What size wheels we know 17" what is the back spacing?
What size are the tires front / rear?
Someone may be running that size and can tell you what you may run into.
Are you sure the larger wheels / tires will clear the body (front) in full turn mode going over bumps like driveways?
Then will it clear the frame in full lock both ways?

I ask lots of parts fitment & parts swaps because I am constantly finding/buying new and used parts , many are HUGE bargains . Many I HOPE will work , and/or be made to work because of the LOW price
Some , such as the shocks I referred to are parts that were included with other parts that I actually wanted

Your excellent info is welcomed & appreciated enormously.........I luv learning about these trucks..........

Also , I try very hard to find my own answer but as you know lots of stuff is very confusing at times..........
Thank-you again , you are ONE OF THE BEST........
