the question is: why would I purchase a XLT with adaptive cruise control when you can get the tremor with a lot more features with included adaptive cruise control for only 1,000.00 to 2,000.00 more on msrp price? i realize this is only with the 5.0V8 engine but does it really matter? why is the XLT priced so highly with adaptive cruise control?
There's 2 Tremor levels with a massive price difference. The 401A is basically an XLT, the 402A is a high trim lariat.
I wouldn't buy a non-Tremor, but that's just me. 33" tires, neat interior and bumpers, unique grill, [raptor side steps, Torsten front diff and transfer case (in 402a)], etc.
Ford has done this for decades. It's possible to option an STX to be more expensive than a similar equipped XLT, and to option an XLT higher than a base Lariat. You can also option a Lariat to be higher priced than a King Ranch or Platinum. One thing to consider is what those trim levels do to your insurance.
