This is my first post. My question is how to remove the defrost ductwork on a 1973 Ford F250 through the glove box through the instrument cluster hole.
it should screw in from the windsheld side in the vent holes and then it just clips to the next section. as far as snaking it through the glovebox, that i can't help... i took my dash off completely. just a handful of bolts. I used to try and get things done with removing as little as possible and over the years noticed that the time i spend trying to fight something in or out of position was normally similar to just removing more pieces which is much less frustrating for me.
I started this job because of a direct short in the dash lights as a trace wire further to the right of the dash taking each part out I found the wire harness plastic bracket and the defrost outlet area totally rotted dangling also a slew of speakers laying inside on the radio the whole front of the dash is apart. I whacked a bees nest. Thank you for your reply. Let me look into it.
To get the plastic defrost duct out you pretty much need to remove the dash. Yes screws hold it in place, but all the other stuff behind the dash is right on it. A/C truck below.
I believe this one is getting aftermarket a/c??
Fresh air vent and heat only box.
Another heater only box.
Mouse built a house (more like a condo) in the duct work.
Great pictures educational my situation. Looks just like the last picture part everywhere it almost comes The cluster hole is half out the glove box hole I had to walk away. I will analyze later and report back.
