I have an '03 f150 7700. The instrument cluster is dusty inside. Can I get inside the instrument cluster once I pull it out of the dash? I don't want to pull it out only to find out it's sealed. Thanks!
That's great to know, I really appreciate it. I have a follow up question, Do you need to take the entire unit out to remove the lense? I have to budget my time, I'm gonna have a four-year-old running around the garage while I'm doing this.
hahaha You might want to get a baby sitter for a couple hours then.
Yes,,pretty much so.
You have to remove the piece around the steering wheel that hooks to the dash.
Remove the light switch,(there is a bolt behind it)
Remove the bold and the 3 screws over the top cluster. Remove that dash piece.
Then you can get to the screws that hold (ether the hole cluster or the face of it) don't remember exactly.
Did it today. Took about 90 minutes, looks like a new cluster. You can in fact remove the face without removing the entire unit, probably saved me a few minutes. Cheers.
