Any suggestions for a decent brake power flusher? I was looking at a Motive products one for around $60, but I couldn't determine which model had the adapter that fits a Super Duty.
Go on their website and it will tell you what adapter to use.
DONT go by their directions to fill the power bleeder bottle with fluid. Just use it for a pressure source. Can usually do one corner per master cylinder of fluid.
Suck out all old fluid from MC, fill with fresh. Hook up the power bleeder and pressurize the system, you only need 15-20psi. Bleed one corner. Undo the cap on the BOTTLE(not the master) to relieve pressure. Top off fluid, bleed next corner. Repeat.
The brake pedal is a pretty powerful pressure bleeder. I have a motion pro bleeder from my dirt bike days, but the brake pedal works great. If you don't have a helper, a snow scraper brush wedged between the pedal and the front of the seat, held tight with the power seat control, will get the job done. If you don't have a snow brush, congratulations.
I have a motive power bleeder with a couple of adapters for my vehicles. Second the advice to not fill it with brake fluid, just pump it to 10-15 psi and use the air pressure to force fluid from the master cylinder.
Extract as much of the old fluid as you can, fill it with new fluid, pump to 10-15 psi, go to the RR wheel and let it run until you see clear fluid. De-pressurize and refill the master cylinder and bleed the other 3 calipers.
It has paid for itself a couple of times over the years.
