I suspect this will not do wonders for my popularity here, but . .
how much brain power can you really expect from folks who live where the water freezes - *on purpose*??
I have said it before and I'll say it again:
"If my refrigerator got that cold I would have to get it repaired. Why would anyone with a functioning brain cell LIVE in a broken refrigerator on purpose??"
. . the whole concept escapes me. I realize not all the snow bound folks are brain dead!! They can't be . . I have met a couple of them here and they seem to have a formatible intellect - EXCEPT FOR THAT PART.
Well those of us who live in areas that accually have seasons other than summer and rain, kinda enjoy the canging of theseason and a little ice and snow isnt nothing to deal with if your used to it

oh come on man what fun is that.. just imagine its -20 degrees out side snowing so bad you cant see more than 10 feet in front of you.... and ur running down a gravel road full throtle on a quad or sled(snowmobile) woooo hooooo now that my friend is fun
Fuzz, living where the cold is can be fun, and you, even you, would change to tolerate it very fast. I was living in Bismarck, ND last winter, and it was Fantastic. I loved it, and wish I was back there. However, one thing that always makes me think, is WHY take a perfectly good truck on to the surface of a lake. I would NEVER drive my truck on a lake no matter how thick the ice was supposed to be. I have, in my career, seen 8 foot thick ice shear for no reason, flip over and kill the people standing on it. That makes ice a no no to me. I don't ice skate for the same reason. Ice is unpredictable, and if you do loose your truck that deep, why recover it. It ain't going to worth anything after a dunking. Bring back the old fashioned water tolerant trucks...please..
