1977 F-250 4x4 with Factory AC - Need help identifying these wires that go to nowhere in the engine compartment. See pics. Any help is appreciated. There are a bunch of empty wires behind the dash too. Not sure how to identify all of them. Thanks
Upon further review there are loose or disconnected wires and plugs everywhere. Is this normal as in a standard wiring harness for every option and then only certain ones are plugged it or connected? As an example the ash tray light and glove box light weren’t in place but the harness had the wires for them. Once I purchased them and connected to the harness they work.
so are all of these other empty wires for different options? If so is there a wiring diagram for the engine compartment harness? Thanks
I believe the red with blue stripe near the solenoid is the original start wire. Looks like someone has a new wire on a loop terminal in its place. Did they bypass a neutral safety switch maybe? Not sure why they would need to run a new wire up there.
Normal to have chaos behind the dash yes, factory maybe yes maybe no, I do not know for sure. I know that there is a difference in a 4 gauge or 2 gauge 2 warning light (on the instrument cluster) wiring harness. And a/c or not....I have not see a either or plug back there.
