Exhuast overhaul : input needed
So my cat was stolen awhile back and now that I’m way past due for a smog I have to redo the entire exhuast system because of a sawed up y pipe with a OEM fit system and Carb complaint cat
God loves me so much a few weeks ago I got a loud pop under load as well
it was the dreaded exhuast studs breaking
the top two in the rear corner on the passenger side snapped
ones probably long enough to take something to it and slowly work it loose after the manifold is off but the other one is sheared off hopefully close to the head
should I replace the manifold too ? Won’t they warp with broken studs ? The leak is so loud on cold start up I thought I had a lifter or a rod bearing about to go
what about the other side ? Is it even worth tearing into if the manifold isn’t leaking ? My trucks a 99 but it is a Cali truck that spent its entire life sitting in east county SD so rust is almost non existent on it despite its age
