Does anyone know, for sure, the OFFSET or Back Spacing of a 2005 Excursion (2 Wheel Drive) Limited 16" Aluminum wheel? Ive been searching the web and the Tech articles here, and can't find a definitive answer. Trying to figure out what thickness of spacer I need to mount the 2020 18" wheels I purchased. Also I came across reading the lug bolts changed in diameter and pitch around 17 or so???

If I’m reading this correctly, you are looking to mount a set of ‘20 18” wheels onto your ‘05 RWD EX. Is so, you will want a set of 2” thick wheel spacers (get good ones). The actual wheel mounting surface moved outboard about 1.5/1.75” in ‘05 on the pickup trucks (EXs did not see this change in ‘05 their last year) but a spacer of that thickness will require you to cut your factory lug studs down some to prevent them from poking through the spacers and not allowing the new wheels to seat properly. Going with a 2” thick spacer will allow the lug studs to remain unmolested and the tires will reside more or less in the factory location under the vehicle, it will not make the tires “poke” out.
I have not read of a lug stud change in diameter, the thread pitch changed from a coarse thread to a fine thread in model year ‘03.
where are you trying to mount the 2020 18" wheel ? a 16" wheel will not fit 2004 and up. won't clear the caliper. lug nut pattern changed in 04.
This is the EX forum, we here are special as our ‘05s do indeed still use front leaf springs and the earlier wheels which do still fit over our brakes.

Just FYI, offset and backspacing are two different things and not interchangeable terms. Depending on wheel design and rim width you can have a wheel with zero offset that will have huge backspacing. The below picture explains it better (image courtesy of a google image search).
Yes, I understand the difference that's why asked; "Does anyone know, for sure, the OFFSET or Back Spacing of a 2005 Excursion", either one will give me the info I'm looking for (although the Offset would be better)

I don’t know what the backspacing or offset is of the above questioned wheels, but in post #3 I did give you the FITMENT info you asked about in the first post. Many, many members here have upgraded to Superduty ‘05+ wheels (17”, 18” and 20”) on their pre ‘05 trucks and all years Excursions and the 2” thick spacer info I provided is based on their feedback. But if that isn’t good enough for you, and you aren’t getting the exact details you want maybe you should pull one of your wheels and get out the straightedge and tape measure to see for yourself.
Your Info was great, and I wasn't attacking you (unlike "techrep" that offered false information). I know most are is using 2" spacers, I just wanted to know for my own piece of mind (and I don't mind replacing studs or altering the existing studs).
I did pull the wheel off, but since they're aftermarket (when I bought the EX) they notoriously don't have the correct Offset.
The only info I've been able to find online is:

Not a lot of help with a "range" of offsets. The 2020 SD wheels I have are (18 x 8 +40mm offset) I thought someone might've had their stock wheels of at some point and made a note of it. Hah, it just hit me, I'll look for someone selling a factory '05 EX wheel and go look at it

Don’t just look for an ‘05 aluminum wheel, ANY ‘99 through ‘04 truck or ‘00 through ‘05 EX wheel will be the same with the exception of the ‘04 18” wheel family that was an option on Lariat, Harley Davidson, King Ranch trucks and the SVT performance parts version as they are all 8” wide vs the rest at 7” wide. The EX wheels were not in any way “special” and were shared across the entire Superduty lineup.
