Injector cleaners? Let's have it out

Hey guys, just want to know your opinions on "injector cleaners, like iso-heet/seafoam/etc. now obviously I don't believe in things like "engine fix" but I just wanna know if I should pick up some cleaner next time I hit up Walmart. For ~$12 or so, I figured it may be worth a shot.

WHat I think:

Best case scenario: improved mpg, better throttle response, extended injector life

Most likely scenario: improves something, but not super noticeable, more like preventative maintenance.

Worst case scenario: truck explodes and I die.

I've had good luck with seafoam into the intake (after MAF/AFM!!) on older japanese cars. All my ford trucks have been turbo diesels, i havent had the ***** to try it on one of them yet.

Ah, speed density 91 5.0 here

I've used a can of seafoam spray on the intake, but the can says to run at 2k when doing the treatment, but I'm pretty sure my 5.0 just ate it up like nothing lol. It probably would have done more if it was spinning slower when I did it.

I'm specifically talking about injection cleaners here though

Seafoam works great. Truck will cough up a storm on you but it certainly helps things. I've heard many good things about seafoam like better mpg or a smoother running engine. Although I have never ran it in my 94 my 76 F150 with a 360 FE took it well. After a little bit of that magic it definitely ran better than it did.

Here is a video that tested if it actually worked. After this vid I became a firm believer in the stuff.

These trucks at newest are what, 27 years old? Just pull yours and have them serviced.

If one cannot afford the downtime, try to pluck a set from a 10th Gen F150 or Expedition as they are prolific in the junkyards now. Flow rate with age goes all over the place and I would bet money nothing in a can will help worth a ****. Furthermore, if you want to waste $12 I will pick up a cheap pizza and a six pack of pints. Just send it to me instead.

Lol... Luckily my truck runs quite good, give or take a few issues (supposedly rebuilt) but I'm just asking to see if this stuff is actually good for extending their life, or just snake oil, I may seafoam the intake again, but that's a separate thing. Although, are the 10th Gen injectors the same as 8th Gen? Would they mess up my computer? Because if they are good, when my injectors bite the dust, I feel like I could buy (better) new 10th gens than new 8th gens. Also I don't have a garage or junkyard I have to time my repairs to use my bosses shop. I'd send ya a pizza, but damnit even pizza isn't cheap anymore maybe I could get ya a root beer and a snickers for $12

Been testing oil

Long thread 2008 to 2023. But seems like most guys had good luck, but it is a continuous treatment thing not just a occasional dosing.

I'm trying Berrymans B12 pour in, for the next 90 days or so. I have an issue with the truck taking two tries to start after it's warm.
I figure I'll see if there's any improvement.

that's what my '85 toyota supra looked like when I used it. The apartment next door called the fire department on me... luckily by the time they showed up the smoke show was over

Lmao. Yeah they tend to do that with seafoam running through them.

Interesting info, I've heard that "gasoline is crap now" how true is this? I'm sure for old cars designed for lead, this is true, but for an efi 91?

Nobody is happy about anything. Most people think everything is crap. All I know is that vehicles run better, engines have better fuel economy, engines have a ton of power, and that is with today's fuels. At no time in the past have engines run this good. I do believe we are on the downhill slide. I guess we shall wait and see.

I do not believe in chemicals, except for additives that prevent shudder in torque converters/LSD. IF you maintain the vehicle properly, there is no need for them. If you don't then maybe it will help. Fortunately, I don't skimp on services.

I know, I am in the minority.
