Still an issue

Build date March of ’24, less than 5k miles on my F350 6.7. Bought in October and all seemed good until our second trip. Part way through the trip the A/C went ambient temp. Called the dealer and the service tech sounded like he didn’t believe me. Found that turning of the AC for a minute helped kick start the cold air for a bit but it was hit or miss how long it would work. Sometimes seemed like it went hot under load other times it’s fine. Tough to find an exact trigger. Found this thread a shared it with the service tech. We’ll see what they find on Tuesday. Maybe Ford needs to recall this build window.

See the “24 A/C failure tracking thread”. March 24 was one of the worst months - you definitely got a bad one. Good news is parts are no longer on backorder.

confirmed that my compressor is toast. Dealer has ordered a new compressor. Pressure was 135 on the high side and it’s near 90 degrees outside.
They have 8 on order and there are plenty of Ford dealerships in our area. Service Writer said they have a “Galactic Back Order”.

The problem for me is that I took it in at the end of ‘24 for a squeaky belt with less than 1000 miles. They supposedly checked it then and it passed. Fast forward six months and it starts to go out on us. Take it to another dealership and it was ice cold for the dealer on three drives over two days. Pick it up and it worked flawlessly for one drive. Then it completely broke while we were hauling in 85 degree weather and rain storms. Ford needs to come up with a better inspection procedure. I identified this problem almost three weeks ago but the part was just ordered today and I have to wait more than 5 weeks with three more hauls during this time.

Time to revive the tracking thread…

I found this thread... with a "A/C not blowing cold" google search....

3000 miles on my 2024, and A/C is ambient temp.
Oddly, my seats don't feel "cool" either. But it was 99 degrees out today.

Just before it went ambient... it was working awesome. I was out running errands... stop, turn it off, and back on... and go for a few hours. On the drive home (which is 30min for me from civilization)... ambient.

I turned it off, on... off, on.... waited 20min... on.... waited another 2hrs.... on. Still ambient.

How do I diagnose with no check engine light??? I've got forscan, would it show up as a DTC?

UGH!!!

And... I'm supposed to go to the local desert at 630AM tomorrow to watch the Blue Angels practice.... no problem, but it's to be 99 degrees out tomorrow too.
