No matter what we do these days we’re being tracked, spied on or otherwise having our privacy
attacked. It’s the trade we all made when signing up for “smart” stuff. It’s technology. If you think things they allow us to know is a violation imagine what we don’t know. It’s without a doubt impossible to enjoy modern technology without losing your privacy.
I’ll enjoy my creature comforts and not be afraid. I truly believe one day it’s all going to be gone anyway. So I train, stay in shape and prepare for the worst.

my 2018 SD had that tracking crap. Even though I never used Fordpass for that truck, I would get notices in my email and the wife would see it on her Fordpass that I was due an oil change. Look at the mileage... sure enough. It matched my truck. I even had Wifi turned off on the truck and prevented any other new MAC/IP addresses to intrude my wifi. That whole "ya need wifi" is utter BS. If ya wanna send my truck updates, just send em over Sat like ya do everything else.

A little harder to do that with a truck as you drive. LOL.

Your truck may not be the sole information leaker. Here in Pa., at both the annual vehicle safety inspection and at vehicle registration renewal, the vehicle mileage reading is recorded...along with the vehicle insurance policy #s. We might be foolish to think that this info doesn't end up somewhere in a shared database.

2024, with all the technology that we have, anybody would be a full thing otherwise.
Traffic cams
License plate readers
Your phone
Toll booth transponders
ADP
etc
My goodness, everybody's track except for those here with tin foil hats. Personally, I can care less.

Yep, my insurance agent offered me a discount. Catch was I had to download their app to my phone, which I was certain would track me daily. I immediately declined. I will pay a little extra to maintain my personal freedom as an American (even if it's not going to last forever).
What happens if it's our first sunny and 75 day and I just left work in my Mustang GT and I want to open it up for a few seconds on an open stretch of highway? Is the app going to throw a flag, alert my insurance company, and then I get a rate increase in the mail? Screw that. This invasion of privacy is going way too far.
