I've never had to replace even the awning (fabric) on mine, so I don't know what your repair is going to involve. I suspect that by the time you dismount the spring loaded cylinder, you might as well install a new entire assembly.

Rain uncharauncharacteristically turned into mass amounts of snow one weekend.

Pretty sure you are SOL on fixing that. Most likely replace with a new or used. Contact a dealer or manufacturer to see if you can just replace the bent part and use your arms.
Just curious on how many inches of wet snow caused that? Would insurance work with you on replacing it?

I made damn sure to pay for the best/most expensive insurance coverage so they damn well better cover it!
Forget inches lol, there was probably 3-4 feet of snow that accumulated in a 24 hour period. Where it's parked it only rains in the winter and MAYBE a few snow flakes hit the ground once a year, but the crazy a$$ el nino weather changed everything this year and the unit being 2500kms away I couldn't do anything about it unfortunately
Wow yeah I agree with the others. There's no good way to straighten it, and it might crack if you did get it straight. You also might break other stuff if you were to try.
I have had mine apart, replacing the fabric. It is a hollow tube, and the ends have springs that insert a few feet. I would say yes, watch videos (might even consider a fabric replacement since it will all be apart) and give it a try. Personally, I think it would straighten fairly easy. Worse case, continue with insurance claim.
I don't see that being fixable either, but just something to think about, why leave your awning out when you're that far away, seems like only bad things could happen to it. Let us know if you're able to repair it.
