My backup camera screen froze and I ran my trailer hitch thru the bottom of my tailgate. Non repairable. My tailgate has remote release, camera and internal step. I was looking on eBay and there are plenty of 23-24 tailgates but none with step. Anybody know if the step version tailgate part number is totally different than the non step version? I was hoping I could just get a takeoff tailgate and swap my camera, step, etc over to it.
I just had my tailgate replaced. He a tree. This was on my 2019 f350 with step. They bought the shell and transfered all the parts.
That's what I would look into. Get just the shell and have it painted. Might be cheaper. My 2024 gate is different as well. Step is lower too. I love it. Lighter and easier to take off and lift up.
I'm just gonna order a new shell and swap my parts into it after its painted. There's a couple on ebay with steps but they want $1500-2500 plus shipping.
AND I'll NEVER trust the backup camera again..... ever

What does a new shell for step equipped tailgate cost?

On a side note. This 2024 I ordered plain Jane srtuff. No backup sensors as they failed me once. Narrow tree. Backup camera is very limited as you know. Also front sensors,Bliss etc. Can't rely on them and so so much cheaper to buy. I always had Lariets and the last 2019 had alot of extra gadgets like 360 camera's, alarm's, power tailgate which would freeze up in ice and snow to my tonneau cover, lane warning which was useless.
And the Lariets now come with more and more stuff that use to be an option and you have to take it to get a Lariet. So I went XLT ordered with what I really wanted. Saved a fortune as well as having less gadgets to bust or start to rely on for so called safety etc.
