I am just putting my truck back together after replacing head gaskets. My nephew pulled it apart and I do not know what some hoses are for. 1- do both the rubber hoses from the EGR tube go to the DPFE sensor or how do they go? 2- Found a hose hanging from top of trans, traced back to transfer case breather, where would that go and should there be a cap at the end? 3- Found another hose behind the engine not hooked to anything and when I grab it, it came out brittle and split and have no idea where it go or what it is for. Please see attached photo
. This is on a 04 F250 5.4l 4wd, Thank you
I looked over the hose in the photo and there is no part# or markings on it. I seems to be a 5/16" hose and had 2 metal retaining clips on it. clip fell of. I looked on the fordparts.com website but can not find anything.
I just had someone on another site. Say they think it is the hose that goes from the back of the intake manifold to the purge valve.Later on today. I will check that out and see if that's what it is.
Well, that was not for the purge valve as it has bolth hoses hooked up properly.I was wondering if it may be a vent hose for the transmission itself? If so. Where would the port be on the transmission? The hose from the top of the curve to the bottom of the straight is approximately 21 inches long.
The one for the transfer case is there. But danglingwhich I will have to put back up. It needs a breather cap. At the end. I need to find where the breather port is on the transmission. I went on Fordparts.com.And did not see any hose that resembles the one I hav
