Did my cups this past weekend. Cleaning everything really well and ensured I got all the old retaining compound out of the bores. I went back to check them 6 hours later and in number 7 I noticed a small oil puddle down at the bottom of the cup. Using my borescope I saw the slightest drool coming from the oil rail above where the top of the cup sits. Mind you I pulled the injectors yesterday and its been over 24 hours so I didnt even realize I still could be getting anything coming out of there. I sprayed brakeleen, compressed air, and wiped out the bore right before pressing the cup in, but I’m worried the cup could have picked up oil residue on the way in, affecting the seal on that one side. Any thoughts? Does 620 bond through oil like other Loctite?
If cleaned just prior to install then I wouldn't worry about it. If it took 6 hrs to make a tiny puddle in the bottom of the cup then it's unlikely to have picked up any measurable amount on it's way by. Side note an engine can and will ooze and drip oil for months sitting on a stand

thanks- yeah I’ll check it with a pressure test in a day or 2. It was just a small trickle down the one side.
I had the same thing happen when I replaced my cups....I freaked out too. That was over a year ago and all is still well.
thank you for the positive mojo @uglypitbull !!! I figured as the cup was pressed in any oil that ran acrossed the top mating surface would be pressed down into the coolant passage, leaving the loctite on the top of the cup behind, since it was drooling so slowly. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking. But I appreciate you weighing in- hopefully I have the same result
Mine were clean and shiny after I pressed them in....not sure where the oil came from, but there it was at the bottom of the cup 24hrs later. I just cleaned it out and put my new injectors in.....I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary (after a year) that would lead me to believe there is an issue, but yes...the pucker factor was very high that morning. haha

yeah I believe it. As was mine. I was **** about the cleaning even though my bores were in great shape. Only crud I noticed was old cracked loctite. I vacced each cylinder with a tiny hose attachment so certainly didn’t think it came up from the cylinder. Sure enough, it was coming from the rail from overhead. You give me hope
