Just got my bed back for the body shop. They replace the right side floor panel. Prior to painting I had to drill out the 4 bed mounting points for the right side. Today I attempted to install the tool box and to my surprise I don't have all of the mounting points required. I'm assuming that I will need to drill two holes in the replacement bed floor panel. My question is, does the tool box bolt thru the floor are am I missing brackets?
Are you talking about a inside the bed tool box like Rubiranch or are you talking a OEM bed side tool box? And maybe some bracket attachment point in the bed floor? I am not sure where bracket # 46178 anchors to. I think a bed cross member?
Kenny you know those are wood screws and will vibrate loose over time. Unless you put some silicone or RTV on them, but still they are to large a thread to hold for long or handle any amount of vibration. Just saying.
Ok so same sheet of music, BED SIDE tool box. Do you have bracket # 46178? I do not think it mounts to the bed floor, but a cross member. I do not remember seeing any extra hdwr on/in a truck bed floor with a bed side tool box.
Cart way ahead of the horse, but come time to install your tail lights/wiring. With what looks like all that over spray, in the tail light cavity (unless they masked that area), you need to clean your tail light wiring ground points real well.
Thanks for the diagram its the oem toolbox. The bracket 46178 does line up with the cross member. I'm guessing that some tabs were not transferred to the new floor. Will look again in the morning.
I added the bedside toolbox to my 1975 highboy utilizing the 46178 bracket as well. Both bolt come thru the bed.
Not saying that was how the factory did it in 1975 but rather how I did it 2015.
View into my bed and looking up at the bracket below.

Tbruz, thanks for the info and pics. I spent about an hour trying to locate the holes and any even evidence of missing brackets found none. I going to drill two new holes and bolt thru the bed flr. Again thanks
