My oem power steering bracket is broken and it causes my belt to squeak I want a replacement but the oem replacements are expensive just because there isn’t a lot available and all of the aftermarket ones I can find are specifically for Saginaw power steering pumps but I just want a simple bracket for my oem pump is it possible to replace the bracket with a simple bracket or would it not line up properly and if so where can I find one the oem bracket is kind of big and heavy…and brittle apparently…if anyone has experience replacing there oem bracket with a non oem bracket for a oem pump that would be great info I can always machine one if there are none available but I’m not exactly sure it would even work and I can’t particularly tell with my eyeballs and I don’t want to tear it apart without knowing for sure
Edit: I suppose I should mention I have a 91 f250 with the 460
That is where I would be looking
At a junkyard with a pulley puller
I can get you 5 brackets in an hour at the junkyard I visit most
About 20 bucks tops

I tried that I went to 3 local junkyards and not one of them had one that was my first choice and it already didn’t work I found one bracket totally and it was broken the same way mine is
I doubt you can find an aftermarket bracket to SPECIFICALLY keep an inferior c2 pump
Just go to a saginaw, you are lucky to have the aftermarket option open to you.
“Inferior” pump…do you know what I use the pump for perhaps…and I know this will sound crazy but maybe I use my truck as a daily driver and I don’t need an expensive power steering pump and maybe I don’t want to pay 150-200 dollars for a pump when mine isn’t broken when I should be able to buy or make a bracket that is much cheaper and suitable to my needs…
So, as far as the "inferior pump" goes, and swapping it for a Saginaw
When you need a new power steering hose in ten years what are you going to tell the parts guy?
What will he say when you tell him you are driving a one of a kind *******? with a this and that off a this and that?
Is this the pricy bracket you need hunterrohr42?
Back when I had no MIG welder
I used to have those broken brackets welded on occasion.
That bracket was most likely 300 bucks from Ford back when you could get it
Pretty sure I can find one around here cheap at Pick n Pull or Tear a Part
Might cost 35 bucks for that big one
Tear a Part claims they get new trucks every 30 days

I use a ford C2 pump.
I am not digging the function it serves, they do it fine just LOUDLY. Which I live with. Mine has gotten much btter since flushing fluid and using seafoam trans tune so its tolerable.
Its original too.
But I said what I said because you seemed like you were NOT going to be buying a factory bracket, either from not being able to source one locally or the price online, and if you were going to be buying an aftermarket, may as well buy the better pump bracket. Depending on how the pump sitsi n your engine bay you may be able to modify a C2 bracket anyway

or just ask for a E250/E350 van from the same years hose, or modify a C2 hose(not much needed to convert)
When you finally get a replacement bracket it is critical that all the bolts are slowly and evenly installed. Do not try to tighten any bolt to meet the block or head if there is any gap.
These brackets will crack if they are torqued even slightly. Watch the fit and if necessary add washers if there is any space that a bolt may stress the bracket to tighten.
I cracked one myself and learned an expensive lesson after replacing the timing chain housing gasket. Go slow and only tighten the bolts after the bracket is completely mated to the engine.
