IN NEED SUGGESTIONS for good headlights !!!
L.E.D.S. , or halogen , or stock ?
What are the differences in brightness & bang 4 the buck , & which do ya'll suggest ???
I would also vote for headlight relays. I dont have them yet on my 70 f250 but did install them on my 72 f250 4x4. My 72 has not been on the road yet so I havent compared the two trucks yet. Its so close. I have a link to the info I used when wiring them in and it is from FTE. https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles...ghter-brights/.
What about the LED options I see out there for our trucks?
In my opinion it all boils down to personal taste. I'm Old School, and I tend gravitate towards a light with an OEM look to it. Most of the 7"/6014 "replacement" LED lights I've seen are too dramatic, IMO (to me they scream "Look at me!"), and they take away from the clean looks of the truck.
But again, that's just my opinion.
However, Holley came out with a line of LED headlamps that look pretty clean, and I've been considering getting a pair for my '68.
Jim, I like those Holly lights also but don't like the price tag. Not that I drive my truck a lot at night. But when I do, I forget how bad the head lights are compared to my modern vehicles.
Bought these off ebay for $43, great lights at night also.
Great post because I found some similar to these & have tons of concerns !!! I assume they are much brighter than stock...........
Hopefully you will/can fix my concerns...........
Did you have to trim the buckets to get them to fit ?
Do the STOCK blinkers still work along with the ones in the headlight ?
Looks like the halo is on now ( in your photo ) , is it ?
How long have you used these ?
Are they lots brighter than stock......
I read several reviews that claim the buckets must be trimmed for some very similar to these to fit ...
Thank-you for the great info.............!!!
