replaced injectors 2, 3 and 7 and there is noticeable drop in diesel in the exhaust. smells like exhaust now. can't really tell by looking at them so i'm guessing spring or poppet worn. onto the low power issue w manual fuel pressure gauge.
just goes to show, start small even if you just tested the fuel pressure. now below 40 at start before i press the pedal. two weeks ago before i pulled it out of the shop w a used motor in it, it tested at 60.
either **** on the screens in the fuel tank or the pump gone bad. don't think its air as i don't see bubbles but anything is possible i guess.
def the tank. back up to 60 psi out of the 5 gal jug. that will learn ya kids . . start small and work your way up. make sure you have fuel and air then go from there.

lol. Got another old one similar age acting up some. Think I’ll get two rebuild kits. The little orange rubber thing - guess it’s the breather is toast. I don’t see it in any kits. Anybody know what it’s called?
Nope, I just took a hammer to the mixing chamber and trashed it. Ran some tube couplers and new tubing down to the bottom for the pick up, and a piece of weighted hose on the return. Add a cheap inline filter somewhere before the pump and called it a day.
