so im getting minimal slip around 2k in 4th gear had it happen once maybe 2k miles ago but couldnt repeat it , ive towed and had no isssues but it seems to have returned it slips slightly i see it more on the rpm than i feel it.
is this just my clutch going out or is there other things i should check into before this assumption? should i check the oil in trans ? if so what do i need to check? im new to the zf6 been a auto guy most my life
no idea the miles on the trans or clutch at minimum 14k
If you're getting an increase in engine rpm without a corresponding increase in vehicle speed it can only be a clutch problem with a manual transmission. You'll notice it most in higher gears where the engine has less mechanical advantage over the remainder of the drivetrain. The internals of a manual transmission are arranged in such a way that if components were slipping, the transmission would be popping out of gear and it would be obvious.
the shift are solid no popping and it shifts into the gears smooth like it should, well i dont know how it should be as the truck is 23 lol. but it s feels good and no popping out as you stated

You have a worn out clutch disc. Replace the clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Inspect the pilot bearing, but it is probably OK.
Your flywheel should be resurfaced before putting it all back together.
Also, inspect your slave cylinder for any leaks or abnormal wear. Sometimes a leak on the slave cylinder will cause slipping.
