Bed bolt holes

1971 F250 Camper special, bed bolt hole centres??

I have some serious rust in bed, and the frame has been drilled with extra holes.
I will need new bed section, but was wondering what the hole spacing are supposed to be.
Cheers
Igor

Are you looking for the dimension(s) along on the length of the bed, or the width?

Sounds simple enough to get....

My back went out on me yesterday morning, but the weather is supposed to be gorgeous here for the next few days, and since I don't like staying quiet, I'll get out and get you these dimensions by the end of the weekend at the latest.

I'm a few miles outside of Zimmerman, MN, which is about 30-45 minutes NNW of Mpls.

Ok, so I have three truck beds here, two of which are C.S. models, and since all of them have extra holes, I'll just point out the ones that common between them.

With the tailgate down, I measured from the end of the bed, like this (pay no attention that "extra" bolt in this picture):

And then I drew-up this:

This is NOT SCALE, and since my writing may not be all that legible:
* There are 6 "main" bolts on the bed, and from the back of the bed (measuring forward) to each "pair" I got:
* Rearmost pair measure (approx.) 29-3/4":

* Second pair are 57-1/4" (approx.):

* The front pair were easier to measure from the front of the bed going back, and that dimension is 2-1/4" (no picture).
* Distance between the pairs is 31-1/2"

I hope this helps, but if not, feel free to respond here, or shoot me a PM.

Jim

Thanks mate for your efforts. Much appreciated.
I'll have a look today.
I also am looking for spare wheel mounting setup pictures, I don't seem to have anything there.
I live in Sellicks Beach South Australia. Very nice place.
Cheers Jim.

So you're an Aussie, then? Does this look familiar to you at all? Of course you would have to be of a certain age....

Yes mate it does, old Valiant I think VG of VF, I'm not across them in a big way, I'm a Ford man, but they are a rare sight nowadays.
I'm 52, once upon a time they were everywhere.

Good man! It's a '71 VG Valiant Mexicana that belongs to a very close and dear friend of ours, a NZ ex-pat.

I'm not a Mopar person either, but the owner has some serious medical issues, so I spent most of last summer getting this back on the road for him, more of an incentive for him to get better and do his P/T (so he could drive it again) than anything else.

Since it's RH drive, I did notice it got more than it's share of looks whenever I took it out...
