squeaky clutch pedal

Each day that I start out the clutch pedal squeaks while pushing the pedal or letting it up. No issues going through the gears. This squeaking only last about 10-15 minutes and then no noise the rest of the day. Thinking it might be the clutch pedal bushings I went ahead purchased the Ford bushing kit. Planning a cross cou8ntry trip this summer so I want to get ahead of any needed repairs so as not to be caught on the side of the road somewhere. You guys have any thoughts on what is causing the squeaking ? Your wisdom is appreciated. Thanks. Skip

Expensive but worth every penny. Fix it once.

I agree, fix it once the right way and no more worries. Only issue for me, is I'm 6'4" and can't fit or squeeze under the steering column to make the repair. Do you guys have a guess on what a shop charges to R&R the pedal box?

I’m 6’4” and did mine but then I’ve been called skinny. Took me two hours on my first truck so that should be about the max a shop should charge.

I just did the bushings on mine after listening to the squeak in and out for over a year. It helped, but not completely. I'm still trying to make rhyme or reason of it. Seems like it's worse when the truck is cold. I might do as others have suggested and disconnect the spring and roll up a section of sponge to put in there to soak up vibration. It did fix grind into reverse gear and most of the 3-4 synchro grind which has been great.

I have never seen a post on here about the welds on the peddle box breaking but it does happen. Mine did. You might want to check welds while out.

Just an FYI. I just called the number for the 'Alter Ego clutch assembly' to chat about their product but lo and behold, the number is disconnected and no forwarding number. Don't know if anyone else has experienced the same.. This outfit doesn't seem credible and maybe we should stay away. Just wondering.

I’m sorry to hear that. When I ordered his wife answered and told me would call back. He did and I ordered. To speed things up I ordered with no core then sent my core back after install. Was immediately refunded the core charge. They seemed very nice people and the product was impressive.
It’s too bad if no longer available. I’ll see if I can find anything out.
