Gauge cluster

Wondering what might cause gauges to work intermittent. Checked and cleaned grounds and new sending units. Would the ignition switch have anything to do with this? Gas gauge works sometimes and then not and temp gauge sometimes reads low and oil gauge rarely shows anything.

besides checking all the grounds, my next guess would be the instrument voltage regulator
