Truck ran great then sat for a few months while I reworked A/C. Once back in order the fuel pump tattle tale was spraying. Replace pump with new Carter. Pressure was high so bought a cheap in line regulator to temp test. Still had issue. So rebuilt carb last night (reset floats too). Still have issue. Only other thing I’ve done recently is a 3G alternator swap.
I checked for vac leaks - can’t find any. Brake booster is fine.
Very noticeable when swapping between power and idle circuit. Truck will die when driving and coming off throttle. Everything seems to point at fueling issue, but I just rebuilt it and wasn’t anything overly obvious that I saw.
Some lifter tick I’ve had for a while - even before these issues popped up.
Try a new carb? Or anything else I may be missing?
Perhaps while setting the great fuel, we have these days ate into the diaphragm on your old pump and made it leak. What told you the fuel pressure was high? Trying to understand high fuel pressure and checking for vacuum leaks connection. Do you have the factory 2-barrel carb. Sort of sounds like carb issues from here from what you have said.

Truck was fumbling after new pump so tested fuel pressure and was about 9 psi. Have an Eddy on it so wanted to get it down to make sure that wasn’t it. It wasn’t…so then was guessing vac leak somewhere.
