My 87 f150 has an instrument cluster with no tachometer, can i put a cluster in with a tachometer from the same generation and everything still work properly??
so i just swapped out the whole cluster with the tachometer and the tach is not working, did i do something wrong? Do i have something unplugged in the engine bay that need to be plugged in that i dont know about?
The related thread (Keppe87) below had the same problem with the tachometer. He said he didn’t have the wiring for it but never came back to say what happened.

so i watched a video on youtube where this guy had an 87-91 body style and he was saying its a plug and play, tho my trucks wiring is all torn apart and what not such as random wires not hooked up to anything from the previous people.. so i dont know if one of my plugs is missing a wire for the new cluster to work properly.
