Approach detection/welcome lighting in 23+

There's been chatter about the approach detection (welcome lights) in 23+ trucks but can't seem to figure out what trim or package it's in.

I have seen other Lariat owners that seem to have it, but on my L/U there are no options under either the dash settings or thru the sync screen anywhere.

I’m guessing if you have it, it would be here. I have a 23 with the L/U and I just checked and didn’t see an option for welcome lighting. Only Zone lighting.

Yeah saw the same thing. I just can't find any info about what package or trim includes it. Just a couple snippets in the manual about lighting/running boards.

Your post made me think more about this. So when I unlock the truck, the exterior lights come on. Wouldn’t this be welcome lighting? It just looks like I don’t have the option to turn it off and on.

yeah that's weird...mine has it ( 24 XLT )and I believe under the lighting section you can cycle it on or off...a bunch of exterior lights and the interior lights come on as you approach the truck with the key...24 XLT premium ...would assume all the upper trims above that would have it

I think any vehicle will light up when you hit unlock. What the original post was talking about was an option where the exterior lights come on when it senses the key fob approach the truck just sitting in your pocket when you’re like 10ft away or so.

my 23 lariat ultimate does it. It’s a decent feature that can help light up the surroundings when your hands are full etc.

it hasn’t bothered me or caused trouble…..and has been helpful in a few instances so for me I’ve left it on.

Do all XLT come with pushbutton start or do some still have a key ignition?

All the vehicles I have seen with lighted approach have keyless entry and push button start, using the RF signal broadcasted from the fob to tell the vehicle to light up and unlock.

Ah ok that makes sense. So my 23 lariat ultimate does not do this. Does your vehicle lighting settings screen show the option to turn welcome lighting on and off? I’m not seeing that option in my settings.

My 23 Lariat Ultimate does have an option to turn it off or on. I leave it on.

No, not all, mine does not.
Just a regular key and I'm perfectly ok with that.
