Seats-Lariat

So I picked up my 2024 Lariat Monday and have been driving it all week. Jumped in my 2022 last night just to drive it and holy crap there is a huge difference in seat comfort. I’m pretty partial to my ‘22 but the seats may be getting swapped out.

I have a 2021 lariet. I changed the seat covers to katzkan and made a bit difference.

What is that that you would say is different?

If you like the 24 seats better I'm with you. My 2019 had the worst comfortable seats I had with 5 other F350 Lariets going back to 2001. My son has a 2006 Lariet and after driving my 2019 he said he wouldn't buy a 2019 cause of it. I find these 2024 softer. I know the foam is softer. Being an upholster I am certain of that. Plus they changed the lumber to be less obtrusive when retracted in the 24 which adds to comfort. I opened up the back seat in the 19 and tore out the lumbar cable that protruded into my back. This 24 doesn't happen but when I want some lumber I can get it.

My 23's seats are way better than my 19's.

I went from a 21 lariat to a 23 lariat and agree with the original post

the seats in the new one are a lot more comfortable

as to what it is I’m not sure I guess the combination of padding materials and slight shape adjustment from the 22?

who knows but the result equals more comfortable especially on longer drives

The '19 seats are the worst I've ever sat in with ANY vehilces over the last 40 years. Just unbelievably bad. I changed the lower cushion to the Durofoam cushion and unhooked all the lumbar horizontal cables in the backrest and now it's very livable. Much much better. I have no idea what Ford was thinking with the seats through the 2010s decade.

I don't doubt that the seats in the new trucks are an improvement, it overwhelmingly sounds like they are, but I also think things like body type, age and lifestyles might have something to do with someone's discomfort.

I've read that some have issues with the piping on the 23+ Lariat seats, causing discomfort and others don't. I own a '19 Lariat, so reading how some find the seats to be extremely uncomfortable or even the worst ever get me thinking about it. Truth is, I never think about the seat comfort in my '19 because I have no issues with it. Neither myself nor my wife have any complaints about the seats in the 5 years of ownership. I'm not young and have been in construction for over 25 years. The longest I ever drive in one day would be 400-500 miles, and that is is not on a regular, so could have something to do with it.

It sounds like I might want to avoid sitting in a 23+, it might make me find something to dislike about my '19 seats lol.

Totally wrong as witnessed by the others above. Lariets haven't had welting in years. (it's not piping) search the web professional trade suppliers for upholstery) they are top stiched or French stitched mostly.
If your happy cheers to you. You won't have to buy another truck cause the seats and steering plus the height is way up amoung other things. Nothing to do with Leather, piping etc.
I bought my 2024 cause of those and as a bonus dumped the diesel's after 5 other supdutys with them. Thank God Ford got the buzz from many people and changed that stuff and came out with the Gozilla.
Again I am an upholster professional 2nd gen for 50 yrs full time. I know foam and seating. They changed the foam but maybe the springs as well. I'm not poking around to find out I'm happy. Defineatly the lumbar was changed. Again as I've posted in the past my 2016 was way more comfortable as well as the previous truck.
Like the other poster we spend many hours and miles in them. I sleep in them often. For hours during a job. Over the years Ford,Chev as well as I've been told have shortened, narrowed and in the case of the 19 trashed them totally.

Also I added washers to under the front seat base ( bolts go thru with no issue) about 3/4 in or so can't remember but on each side to jack up the seat a bit to be more like the 2016 and previous years.

What is totally wrong, my opinion and experience with my own truck and seats? All I gave was my experience with my truck, never said or insinuated that it should be the experience of every 2019 owner.

If you could read you would see that the piping mentioned is on the 2023+ Lariat seats and there have been a few owners who posted that it causes them discomfort.....are they wrong too? Point was, there could be personal reasons why some might hate a seat, and others love it. Sorry you couldn't comprehend what I was saying.
I'm not telling you that you are wrong, or the other gentleman is wrong in your assessments and opinions of the seats in the trucks you have owned, I believe you, so what's the problem? I should be miserable and hate the seats in my '19, like you?

I added washers too, but I put them in the rear. The lower cushion is too reclined for me and it was making my feet get tingly and numb. I'm about 6'3" so I can't imagine somebody shorter than me even getting comfortable with how reclined it was. The washers helped.

My 2023’s are much more comfortable than my 2016 seats were.

Amazing how different people are. I have the front of the bottom cushion tipped up as high as it will go and often reach down and pull the switch because I want more. Also seat is the whole way up to. I’m only 6ft even.

I wish the steering wheel would tilt higher. And the high beam indicator at the top of the dash instead of hidden down below the bottom trim.
