My first truck. A 77 F100. 302 4 speed, 9", reg cab long box. Ugly as ****, but my favourite anyway.
And on the topic of could be inherited, my grandpa had a Ford Futura. That had a 302 auto power everything. I was also 10, and that car was given to my aunt. All her kids learned to drive in it, and when I finally found out what happened to it 15 years later, it was rat bagged, and sold for scrap.
I shoulda had that car. Oh well. What's a 10 year old kid supposed to do.
My dad had a 77 f-150 from new that I would have loved if he had kept it till I turned 16. But, I finally found my own to love. And let's just hope I keep it long enough to give to my own son.....when he pries the keys out of my cold stiff hand.
My dad bought my Uncle's (on my mom's side) Aunt's 70 Olds Cutlass 2 dr. around 1995 or so. He offered to sell it to me a few years later but I was not exactly loaded with cash at the time. Only one owner. It had 33K miles on it, optional 4 bbl motor (not a W30) and was in absolutely perfect condition - no dents, no rips in the interior, no leaks. It had the smoothest running engine I've ever come across. Yeah, I know it was a GM product, but back then they knew how to make 'em.
I also regret getting rid of my '74 Capri. Good handling, zippy and got over 30 mpg on the highway.

DAMN.. I would still be pissed TOO! Gotta love a GTO.
Have you paid them a visit lately and given them their monthly beating.?
Ahh yes, it would have to be my high school sweetheart. A 64 olds cutlass 2 door hardtop, white with red bucket seat interior and a 4 speed. The last time I saw her she had a car load of Sioux and was headed for the rez. I still have dreams about that car after 30 years.
1974 Dodge Charger 440, pistol grip, landau top, white.

(ok, just finished zipping up my flame retardant suit...)
my 2000 Tacoma. I wanted something sporty, but I should have kept it AND bought a second car instead. I drove a company 2000 F250 all day also, and when I left that job, i started to get 'small man' syndrome really bad
it was one of the most mechanically sound cars/trucks i'd ever bought, but because it was also my first new car/truck, i thought i could get the same from the Ford I traded it in for
