I have a 1977 ford f150 with what i believe is a non factory dual tank set up because the tank selector switch is not in the factory spot and from the looks of it there never was one the tank selector switch is a regualar two position switch mounted on the lower part of the dash on the driver side but the second tank does not look like it was added it looks factory. does anyone know if my dual tanks are factory or not.
Welcome to FTE, pictures go a long way in giving information and would be a big help in your situation, I have a 77 F150 SB/4x4, it has a factory tank in the cab and a factory tank aft rear axle.
Does yours look like this?
If the tank does not look like a OEM set up and or the 2 position switch in the dash (by the heater control) is NOT there, then maybe you have a aftermarket dealership installed set up?
I had a 76 E350 van we added a 2nd factory tank in, 460's like the gas!
We pulled it from another van in the junk yard and IIRC the switch was mounted below the dash panel not by the HVAC controls.
