I've got a 1991 E150 6 cylinder van that runs beautifully. It starts right up when cold. But after running and turning off when the engine is hot, it won't start back up. Have to wait a few hours. I've replaced the starter, solenoid, radiator, plug wires, distributor, and adjusted the timeing and still have the problem. I've heard the next year, similar engine had a fan installed. Can anyone help. I've got alot of time invested and just hate to throw in the towel.
Codes from the engine computer, or ECM. If something in the engine electronics isn't right, the computer might set a code to steer you in the right direction to fix it.A Haynes manual shows how to do that and what the codes mean. You can get a reader or use a paper clipto make the check engine light blink out the codes. Do a search on this forum to find out about that.
It's a jumper wire, so you put it in the connector under the hood with a cover that says "EEC TEST" and then to the single-wire connector right beside that.
