what would you expect the quarter mile time to be on the truck in my sig? and at what mph would the pass be made? its stock except for flowmaster muffler. a friend of mine had a newer f-150 stock that hit 80 mph, not sure on the time. its a v8 triton. i think its 5.4L not sure though. not the new 3v. its a tad old. i would say 98-2001. i kinda think thats a tad low.
i went out to the 3 bridges. thats wehre everybody races around here. its an estimated quarter mile. didn't have a way to time myself but i can tell you the mph. i was a little over 85. just getting into the black. speedometer tops out at 85, so i estimate 86-88.

My chevy w/ 350 ran 14.20 in the 1000' and usually you add a second and a half... so 15.70 or so
My buddies dad has the 5.4 and it ran 14 i think.
So around 16.XX
seemed to me like the 302s in the late 80s were faster than the 351s, but the 351 was much better suited to working
transmission, and rear gear affect this, so that may have made the difference with the trucks I drove
speedometers can be off by 10 mph or more sometimes
not saying yours is
um guys, you comparisons are kinda well um, apples and oranges. so far my trucks been compared to mustangs, f250 and etc. i was looking for something more like f150 compared to f150 rofl. alot of you seem to be forgetting tire size gear ratios and etc. my trucks not a 4x4 its 2x4 its much lower with the stock 15 street tires. f250 ways noticably more than an f150. mines not even fullsize its shortbed. weighs twice as much as my friends 03 mustang. got comments about speedometers being off and etc. what exactly are we discussing here? drunken were you comapring the 5.0 stang or a 5.0 f150? the f150 would be smoked.
I was comparing F150s,but some of that was gearing
the 302 seemed to like the higher RPMs too though
these were stock work trucks though
as far as the speedo thing I basically meant that two trucks could be neck and neck all through a race, and one could say 90mph on the speedo, and the other could say 100mph, and they each could be doing 85 or 105, so its hard to really say from your example for sure
I did just recently see an add for a performance computer that mounts on the dash, and tells 1/4 mile, 0-60 times, G forces, etc
forget who makes it though, I know someone here knows what I mean
Do you peel out when you take off?
EXACTLY how far are you going?
What are the rear gears?
Manual or Automatic?
Your tires are 15's but what is the sidewall measurement, the second number group in the size code?
exact same tire size. gears are 3.08 i think, codes 18. this is assuming the gears weren't changed out since before i got the truck. c6 auto. 4x2. i definantly peel out. my truck peels out doing anything rofl. exact distance i can't say, ill measure next time out. when i go and peel out i never notice it, can't hear it over the roar of the engine, that sucker gets LOUD. not talking about the exhaust, my trucks just one big roar. can't distinguish exhaust note from the engine. so i never hear it when im full throttle, or at least i never notice. i didnt' find out till i asked the last guy i raced. he said i peeled out like a ****. i only hear my truck peel out when the engine isn't to loud.
