FORSCAN engineer/developer

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I would like to speak with a FORSCAN engineer/developer regarding 23+ Super Duty. Looking to increase the tire diameter parameters to 3280 mm and 3430 mm so the trucks don't throw drive assist alarms. At min, increase to 3280 mm, but would be nice to also have the 3430mm option. Right now the max increase is 2780mm. Truck in picture is equipped with a hypertech tuner.

That Truck in the picture is not a 2023+ model, just looking at the vent on the front fender, and no step pad on the box.

That is correct. But the question is still relevant, and it is PFA as these tires are 3280 mm tall.

ForScan can only change what is programmed in from Ford code.
Currently Ford code only allows 2770

Beat bet is aftermarket at this point in time.

I’m not a Forscan user (yet….) but I think I recall some conversations in the EX forum regarding taller tires than the PCM could accept, with the Sterling 10.5” rear axle with the ring gear tone ring some folks had success altering the number of “teeth” on the tone ring within Forscan to trick the PCM into thinking less revs to offset the bigger tires. Requires some math of course to get to the desired target. Not sure how the modern trucks are setup for a VSS (tone ring still?) and if this work around would be possible. I can try to find the thread(s) in the big wagon section to hopefully explain it better.

That procedure used to work. No longer with newer trucks.

Does changing the gearing programming work?


I put a 3.73 in my 2016 F150 (changed from 3.31) and the speedometer was off.

As ZooDad mentions there are aftermarket calibrators from Hypertech and others. Sounds like it may be the only option if it's outside of FORScan's parameters.
But it may be an expensive solution for a one off use.
