We Own Work: My 2017 Super Duty Experience

Hey guys! My name is Josh Morris and I have been a member of this forum for about a decade.

Long story short, I was chosen with 4 others to get a "behind the scenes" look at the production, testing and development of the all new 2017 Super Duty. So far, this has been a "once in a lifetime" opportunity!

A little bit about myself. I am a 30 year old Apprentice Electrician with Georgia Power building substations. My wife (Brooke) and my two children (Blakely 6/Brock 4) live in Cartersville, Ga. I eat, sleep and breathe Super Duty. This 2017 Super Duty is going to be a game changer in the market it already defines.

Follow along as the series kicks off. At this point there are 2 videos up. Any and all questions are welcome and I will answer anything I am allowed to.

Josh,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Not a technical questions, more about the aesthetics of the truck. Seeing these 2017 SDs in picture/video, it looks like they stand taller than the previous generation of SDs. Can you comment on this? Are the a taller, beefier pick-up, or just the perspective in picture? Thanks for answering.

They are "larger" than the outgoing Super Duty trucks. Pictures don't do them justice. Try and get out to an auto show and see one in person. They are very "intimidating" looking in person!

That's awesome!

Have you gotten to drive the truck? How does it ride compared to your 2012?

That's looks like a '11-'16 fender grafted onto that truck.

Also in the video showing the frame upside down it looks like Ford retained the twin I beam suspension for the 2wd models.

The new superduty is supposed to share the cab with the existing new F150 , so we should already know the size of the truck .

When we're able to line the 2 up next to each other I'm sure there will be a noticeable size difference. Front clip is all different as well as the different and larger box. I can't wait to see them at the dealer here.

That was a test mule designed to look like the current Super Duty to throw you off. The fenders will look like what has been seen with all the photo releases since the Texas State Fair.
