Has anyone changed out the USB plugs to a USBC to accommodate for the new iPhone. If so do you have a part number that would fit in a 2018 f250 Lariat. Thanks
I think that USB-C has a higher power rating IIRC, so if the OP is expecting that benefit an adapter only changes the connection and would still only provide what the USB-A provides from the truck. Which isn't much, from what I've seen in my '20 XLT.
Maybe the later year models that offer USB-C have a particular module that could possibly replace the earlier pre-USB-C module, I dunno...
I just bought adapters. They work great. This transition is going to be a pain for the next few years so I bought a bunch of them and stow them in various places...work, home, luggage, cars, etc.
Guys I just want to lnow if you can simply plug and play a new ford USBC into a 2018 UBS. Will it work? i don't care about voltage? thanks
I thought I read that installing the OE 20-22 USB C port in a 17-19 requires upgrading Sync 3 to 3.4. If I find the thread where I might have read that I will add it. Some other options would be to wire in an aftermarket USB C port or even easier, just use an adapter in the 12v port (cig lighter). I use something like this in either the 12v dash port or more often in the center console. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insigni...?skuId=6495000
