I just got a 2013 F250 XL with Ranch Hand bumper. My XL has power windows, locks, remote key, and does not have automatic headlights. I wanted to install fog lights and found a fairly good Youtube video with part/numbers. Links below. The instruction sheet from Ford lists parts and reads for installing automatic headlights with fog lights and you have to replace the BCM. Is the BCM the same as the fuse block in the passenger kick panel ?
I don't want automatic headlights. Just add fog lights and a factory switch to turn them on. There is a Motorcraft head light switch for, Off, Park, On, and fog lights. My BCM has a fuse in the fog light location and also has a relay for delay/or maybe fog lights, have to look again.
My question is about the BCM. Do I need to purchase a new BCM as listed in the instructions even with out installing the auto headlight feature? Does it have to be programmed?
Sorry I don't know about the BCM. However, don't forget the upfitter switches might be a good option for you. I have a pair of flood work lights on the front and just flip the upfitter switch when needed.
I have ordered the light switch and an electrical connector pigtail off ebay. Fog lights are installed. Just need to receive the parts and install to see if it works. I really didn't know if the upfitter switches would be easy to connect without running a bunch of wires/relays.
The XL and XLT kits are different but both include automatic headlights. I didn't want automatic and that is why I think this may work without adding a new BCM.

when I did mine I ordered a kit with the lights and auto switch and light sensor for the dash, no bcm needed , but i did have to turn on fog light via forscan, also enebled bambi mode
If you have a Forscan, there’s a setting you can change so the fogs are on with both high and low beams, if I recall correctly some call it Bambi mode.
I received the new headlight switch today and installed. At first nothing changed. Then I cranked the truck, turned the light switch through all the positions, pulled out the ring for the fog lights and Voila, the fog light indicator came on. I checked the wiring under the radiator and it also has power.
Now just waiting for the electrical connector to arrive to finish wiring the LED fog lights in my Ranch Hand bumper.
So on my XL to add aftermarket LED fog lights to a Ranch Hand bumper,
1. I purchased a new headlight switch that has 3 positions, off, park, on, and the ring to pull out for fog lights
2. Purchased aftermarket 4" square LED 48 watt lights.
3. Purchased a BU2Z-14S411-TA BU2Z14S411TA WPT-1171 electrical pigtail connector off Ebay
4. Installed all parts and wired the fog lights to the pigtail and plugged it into the wiring harness under the radiator.
I did not have to purchase a new BCM or any programming. I do not have auto headlights and did not want to add that feature as described in the Ford instructions.
