Hi all, making some progress.
got the cab off today , after we took out the 63 Powercat 15 C for a blast.
2 things
One, there is a bracket under the truck I don't see the use for.
Two, my cab and bed gap differs near on 5/8...side to side
I am carpenter, so I tried to square the bed, with my tape measure, and I keep getting almost the same amount, 5/8, difference.
So let's call it 5/16 out of square.
Is this a factory crudeness, or is it from a hit.
There is evidence, of a hit in the right rear part of the bumper bar...
Any input would be greatly appreciated, I don't have much in the way of support down here in Adelaide South Australia, I would love to be in a place where there are many yards with trucks in them, as I grew up in a wrecking yard.
Thank you in advance.
Igor

Reason: Pics
The bracket is for side support of the fuel tank skidplate which would be inboard of the driver's side frame rail.
Don't know about the gap issue, sorry.
If you're a carpenter you'll understand cross measuring. These frames are pretty much symmetrical so picking points on the frame where you can cross measure holes or mounting points will tell you if your frame is square, or if it may have what's called a diamond in the frame, where one rail is effectively longer than the other. Everything should be at least within 1/8". It's a common occurrence if one corner gets hit, and is easy to fix.

Thanks for your reply.
Someone has obviously removed the plate and left the bracket.

Hi mate, yes I do understand, and that's what I did.
I'm not sure yet exactly how, bit o will work something out to make it squarer.
I appreciate your help.

Agreed. That hanging bracket is for the tank "protector plate" (my term for it, may not be correct).
