i-BOARD side steps
What I really wanted was true wheel to wheel steps, that front bed access is pretty important to me.
Most of what I found was just short bed steps applied to the long bed truck, the steps cutting off way short of the rear wheel opening.
Anyway, since nothing I found was exactly what I wanted, I went cheap, and if my ideas for these steps doesn't work out, I won't be out a ton of money.
So, on amazon, found these steps that are just cab length, but they make some matching shorter steps that are intended for use in a receiver hitch, and I have an idea for mounting those back on the side of the bed, so having a separate step for bed access.
These steps have brackets that fit right onto the factory installed mounting studs, same as the factory installed steps.
And, these steps were only $240 shipped on amazon prime.
Anyway, got these mounted on the cab and I like the looks, not too wide, don't stick out too much and work great for letting this old man get in the truck!
What was unbelievable was that the U.S. postal service delivered the over 7 foot long box!
I didn't think they delivered stuff that big.
I was looking for a solution to lower my steps. was thinking someoen has a lowering bracket for stock running boards but no luck.
on a different forum someone posted a 24" step they bolted to their existing running board ...that would work...I ordered what was at the link they had ...what I recieved looked nothing like the forum post.
thought about AMP powersteps XL, which are clained to be for trucks with 6" lifts...I have a 5" lift. called tech support and they said the powerstep Xl puts the step 16 inches from the door sill.....huh...thats only a 2" drop. not worth 2000 dollars in my book.
the search continues.
apparently the 2017 and newer are more complicated to customize. phooey.

Nah, really liking the looks of these, and if I can get the short steps attach on the bed side I think it will look great and work great.
These steps are very light, and were pretty easy to install.
