EBPV Question?

I know this has been asked before, but I don't remeber seeing an answer on if this is correct or a malfunctioning EBPV? This morning (first below freezing start up this winter) after a 7-8 min idle warm up with the EBPV working as advertised. When I got in the truck and hit the brake it idled down and the EBPV kicked off the way it is supposed to. The problem is, on the way to work, under slight load, low boost condition the EBPV was slightly closing. Is this cycle of the EBPV working supposed to continue until the engine has reached "operating temp," whether it is under load or not or is it malfunctioning? The truck is still under warranty, is this something that is covered and how do I go about getting them to fix this if it is actually a malfunction and covered?

Thanks for all the help

At low temperatures, mine will work for better than 5 miles - at cruise or even under slight load. It opens right up when I accelerate or decel.

That is the way mine works as well. It will close down some while driving if the out side temp is real cold even if the motor is warming up. Sat. it was 4 deg here in Colorado and mine would close down at every stop light. After driving 15 miles in to town.

Yea, I could understand closing back up while waiting at a stop light. But mine is closing off under slight load cruising, and OPPY yours does it too?

So I guess this is normal when it is real cold and it will quit closing when it warms appropriately?

Yep even under light throttle is was closeing down. Under regular throttle it was ok. My EGT'S were higher too while driving in 7 deg wheather. They would cool down to normal at ideal but were higher than normal while driving on light throttle/ low boost.

mine does the same thing. That's when you know that you are easy on the throttle. It will also do it under higher throttle, it is just harder to hear. I could hear it faintly the other day in 3rd gear (downshift), and teh RPM's were over 2000.
